[Grimm still didn't know how it had happened that when he returned to Hallownest, he returned at the point in time the Knight and the Hollow Knight were from - after the Ritual had been completed and he had died. With Grimmchild now fully capable of taking over the responsibilities of the troupe, Grimm had what he thought he never would have in his life: freedom to do whatever he wanted. To go to lands that were not dead or dying.

Of course, it was much simpler to travel to a world that had called for his services. But the Nightmare Realm connects many places, and if you know whose dream you're looking for, eventually you'll get there.

Grimm arrives mid-nightmare, of course. A similar one to that which he's seen before, except this time, he catches the pot of boiling water in the air before it can scald Shouto.]

[So. Raihan lost in the finals.

It's been a while since he has, and it sucks that he won't go on to face Leon, so the disappointment stings. But you know what? It's refreshing, too. The audience ought to see a spectacle that isn't just the Leon&Raihan show every once in a while, he still looks good despite it all, and the kid, Gloria... she's something else. She has the same fire she sees in Leon, the unbeatable desire to reach her goals and to take the title of Champion for herself, the aura of her knowing she'll win, no matter the cost.

In all of his years being Galar's eighth Gym Leader, he's never seen someone go on to face Leon and actually be unsure if he could beat them or not.

It's why he feels it's important that he stays. That's his boyfriend defending the title, after all, and though no one else in the world knows, he needs to be there to support him, whatever the outcome may be. He's sure this'll be a fight unlike any Leon's ever fought.

One look at a ping on his phone, however, and that all flies out the window.

Paparazzi may have seen Raihan heading out of the stadium, phone to his ear, eyes angry and wild even though he doesn't have a pokeball in his hand. "You sure? How many people? What's he doing now?" That same paparazzi will likely spin a story that Gym Leader Raihan, angry about his loss, fled the stadium in a fit, but Raihan doesn't pay it any mind. Let them say what they want; his gym has been infiltrated again, his kids have been kicked out again, but they sound worried and upset about it this time. And they have the right to: Anyone who's a citizen of Hammerlocke who couldn't make it to Wyndon have all gathered in the gym, filling the stands and watching the battles on the big screens.

And Rose... he had an odd look to him this time, according to the kids. "Be ready," he'd told them. As if being as ominous as possible wouldn't scare the daylights out of them.

He doesn't want to leave, he wants to stay and cheer his boyfriend on and be there for him, but his city, his people, his kids need him. He knows Leon will understand - hopes he does.

And just so that Leon isn't left in the dark, Raihan texts as soon as the call is over, already at the entrance to the stadium and hopping down the endless flight of stairs three at a time.]

[He won't make it back; it'll probably take all of intermission just to get to Hammerlocke. But he does promise himself to get there as soon as he's done.

He lets out Flygon and lets his phone hover, relying on speech-to-text as he climbs onto his Pokemon.]

You're gonna be brilliant, okay? And you better give it your all, or I'll come back just to snag my own victory!

[He pauses. This whole thing feels... weird. Enough that he adds another text as Flygon takes off.]

[Raihan doesn't really know where Leon is right now, but he does know that he has a problem. A big problem, one that makes it hard to focus on the work he should be doing. He tried ignoring it, but that just made it even harder, so to speak.

Yep, it's the tent he's sporting in his pants. Thankfully, he's in his gym office, which has hundreds of stairs that no one but him wants to climb, so he's safe and alone. He has no fear of League officials or his kids walking in when he tugs his shorts down with one hand, the other reaching for his phone to give his boyfriend(!!!) a text.]
